Lying Words

Regardless of that Re-Wording game the Dems play — you know, like Acorn changing their name and hoping we won't notice :|

Same play, different day with the Health Care bill, that other Stimulus (er, jobs) Bill, and the question of Taxes, um, "revenue"…

Welcome Soaring Deficits that can never be paid.

Remember he has promised "fundamentally changing the United States of America"
He has surrounded himself with revolutionaries that believe like Mao, that power comes from the barrel of a gun.

He believes in "spreading the wealth" (i.e. your wealth).

The fiscal year 2011 budget, sent to Congress Monday, includes buried allotment for Cap and Trade and Health Care a la Obama. All of it
will add $1.3 trillion in deficit spending on top of the current year's projected $1.6 trillion deficit. In fact, his budget depends upon this tax income.

This budget is full of taxes. Taxes on you. How will we survive.

Ironically, Obama said the federal government should stop treating taxpayer dollars like "Monopoly money." But what the hell is he doing?

Sen. Judd Gregg, on the Senate Budget Committee, said the White House is not going far enough in tackling the debt crisis.

"We've got some pretty big problems here. We need some pretty big solutions," Gregg told Fox News. "This is fiscal insanity — to continue to grow the government the way we're growing it, to continue to spend the way we're spending. … We're going to pass onto our kids a country that basically is insolvent."

Ant and Grasshopper FableI am so amazed at the creativity of people out there. I found this pearl of wisdom posted by palmetto at the Washington Post poll

THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER

A twist on the old fable.

OLD VERSION

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

MODERN VERSION

The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving.

CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.

America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green.'

ACORN stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, “We shall overcome.” Then Rev. Jeremiah Wright has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.

President Obama condemns the ant and blames President Bush, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper's plight.

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is then confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant’s food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again.  The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the ramshackle, once prosperous and once peaceful, neighborhood.

The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest of the free world with it.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010.

note: In its Greek original, as well as in its Latin and Romance translations, the grasshopper is in fact a cicada. Just FYI :)

So what if you cannot afford the presents for your children. So what if you lost your job and can't even put food on the table. So what if you can't pay your bills.

Your STOLEN Tax Dollars Hard At Work

Mark PennAlmost $6 million in federal stimulus funds was given to two firms run by Hillary Clinton's former presidential campaign strategist, The Hill newspaper reported Wednesday. He needed SIX MILLION to save 3 jobs. Huh?

Yup, you read that correctly. Mark Penn, who worked as Clinton's pollster during her 2008 presidential run, got $5.97 million from the $787 billion stimulus package so he could preserve three jobs at his public relations firm, Burson-Marsteller.

None of them care about us. Not Obama, not Clinton. They just want more money to play their games.

Republicans have blasted the use of federal stimulus dollars, claiming the money has gone to many projects that have little or nothing to do with job creation. Or more like an excuse. I mean, who needs 6 million for three jobs? It is just WRONG.

Senators John McCain, R-Ariz., and Tom Coburn, R-Okla., held a news conference Tuesday in which they released a report criticizing 100 projects paid for by the stimulus package that they claim wasted $7 billion.

At least there are two – out of how many on Capitol Hill? — who are working for us.

The president who is sitting in the Oval Office right now promised to bring us "hope" and "change." Barack Obama is keeping at least one of those promises: change. But it's not the kind of change millions of you voted for.

OK, this is what makes me crazy. What part of his change message did you understand? Why follow him so blindly? Did you not see and hear that Obama was never specific in what exactly he would change – and change to what? It is amazing that many are disillusioned. They did not pay attention and deserve what they got. Problem is, it dragged the rest of us into this mess.

Oh we've got change all right — but a whole lot different than what we thought. The changes are eroding our basic freedoms — like Freedom of Speech.

Obama and his radicals are really imposing "controlled speech: Control over the media; control over the Internet; control over you.

One of the groups behind all this is Free Press. Ironic name because it is the opposite. Their motto is: "Free Press. Reform media. Transform democracy."

I didn't realize democracy needed transforming. But anyway, you'll remember that Free Press is the group pushing net neutrality, which would take the Internet out of the hands of private business and put it into the hands of government. That would create a level-playing field, which would destroy the free market that… created the Internet. But hey, you know how those evil corporations are: Always trying to be successful and make money. So evil.

Free Press is also behind SaveTheNews.org, which is "leading the search for new public policies to save journalism and to promote a robust free press in America."

Hmm, policies? Policies like a government bailout for journalism? How exactly does that "promote a robust free press"? But on to Public Broadcasting. Executive director Josh Silver's position paper "Public Media's Moment" spells out to President Obama how to take advantage: ..you have a rare opportunity to achieve real change and reinvent public media."

Silver calls on President Obama to create a White House commission on public media — and a tax on electronics:

"…on every home electronic device: multimedia players, cable and satellite set-top boxes, video game systems, televisions, etc. those devices that entertain America would in turn be supporting programming to inform, educate and enlighten. And the fee would be paid by those consumers with the means to spend on new electronics."

Yeah, another tax idea. Just what we need. That is their answer to everything.

Health Care Trickery…or Obfuscation? OK, I love that word since I heard it first on X-Files :)

But whom are they kidding? What has been "transparent" so far?  Closed door discussions, arm-twisting in the Oval Office, health care takeover snuck into a stimulus bill in the middle of the night, more and more underhanded treatment from people who supposedly work for us!

Transparency — or Hidden Agenda of Governmental Control

A closer review of The two-part Obama Health Care Plan shows that the first part of his Plan was buried in the stimulus bill, and the second part is currently being debated in Congress.  Unfortunately, the foundation of ObamaCare does not make health care more affordable and available, but rather promotes inefficient government control, long lines,  rationing, and denial of health care – backed and enforced by penalties, punishments and taxation.

The first part of Obama’s Plan, already passed into law in the stimulus bill, dictates that doctors and hospitals will be overseen and reviewed by the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology.  This “Coordinator,” an anointed bureaucrat, will “guide medical decisions at the time and place of care,” and will be responsible for monitoring treatments to make sure doctors and hospitals are strictly following the government’s pre-determined mandates (Stimulus Bill, p. 116; see also pp. 442, 446).   This sounds suspiciously like practicing medicine without a license, a crime in almost every state.

What happened to doctor/patient confidentiality?  What happened to H.I.P.P.A.’s mandate and philosophy that no one outside the doctor’s office should be able to access, to see or to monitor your patient records?  Big Brother will definitely be watching you, and will also tell you what treatments you can and cannot have

The stimulus bill goes on to say that hospitals and doctors that are NOT “meaningful users” of the new electronic systems will face penalties.   The Secretary of Health and Human Services will be empowered to impose “more stringent measures of meaningful use over time.”  (Stimulus Bill pp. 366, 478, 511, 518, 540, 541.)  According to those in Congress, penalties could include large six figure financial fines and possible imprisonment for NOT following government protocols.  It is one way to fund the new system, but a self-defeating one.  According to the Obama Plan, if your doctor saves your life but breaks government protocol, you might have to go to the prison to see your doctor for follow-up!   It is therefore NOT surprising that a recent Investor’s Business Daily Survey revealed 45% of physicians currently in practice reported they would leave the field of medicine it this legislation is implemented.   This potential reduction in health care providers does not bode well for the ability of Obama’s Plan to make health care available to everyone, or at least everyone the government deems “worthy.”

“No Additional Taxes” = Mandates and Escalating Penalties

As outrageous and over-the-top as this seems, the penalties and punishments are NOT limited to providers.  Every American becomes a target with this plan. If an individual declines to buy insurance (at a price to be determined by the government), he/she will be fined $1900 for not buying the insurance.  The penalties for this “non-tax” escalate.  Politico.com has reported on the explanation of additional penalties on individuals by The Joint Congressional Committee on Taxation:

“Sen. John Ensign  received a handwritten note Thursday from Joint Committee on Taxation Chief of Staff Tom Barthold confirming the penalty for failing to pay the up to $1,900 fee for not buying health insurance.

Violators could be charged with a misdemeanor and could face up to a year in jail or a $25,000 penalty, Barthold wrote on JCT letterhead. He signed it ‘Sincerely, Thomas A. Barthold.’ “

If any American chooses NOT to have coverage, as millions currently do, then they will be fined.  If they  do NOT pay the fine then they will penalized $25,000 or ‘Go To Jail’…..Go directly to jail without passing Go.

But the penalties, taxes and punishments do not stop there.  In fact, President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and Senator Reid  do NOT want you to consider the taxes really to be taxes. On page 203 of the health care bill (the one that is currently available to the public) it is stated, “The tax imposed under this section shall NOT be treated as a tax imposed.”  I kid you not…..how dumb do they think we are?

While out of one side of his mouth President Obama claims there will not be an increase in “taxes,” it has also been reported that a provision to tax medical appliances has been proposed to partially fund the health care plan.

The Senate recently exempted medical items that cost under $100 — such as tampons and condoms. But the tax, expected to raise about $40 billion over the next decade, is still in the bill and includes items like:

  • Pacemakers
  • Hip joint replacements
  • Gastrointestinal tubes
  • Artificial hearts
  • Hearing aids
  • Porcelain teeth
  • Heart defibrillators
  • Prosthetic heart valve rotators
  • Powered wheelchairs
  • Ventilators

The Medical Device Manufacturer’s Association said that the tax would hurt them, as well as those who need medical devices.
