Arizona in the Crosshairs

Michelle MalkinAn indignant President Obama complained last week, "I can't spend all of my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead." Fine. How about plastering a copy of his presidential oath of office there instead? The oath says to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States" — not international law or global diktats.

Case in point: Last week, Obama's State Department handed in America's first-ever report to the United Nations Commissioner for Human Rights. There is a section on "values and immigration," which essentially singles out Arizona's immigration enforcement law as a human rights deficiency "that is being addressed in a court action."

In response, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer rightly blasted Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration for succumbing to "internationalism run amok."

No one should be surprised, of course, that the Department of Blame America First is prostrating itself before the likes of repressive U.N. Human Rights Council members Libya, Cuba, Saudi Arabia and China. No one should be surprised that Obama's globalist panderers couldn't simply keep their mouths shut and refrain from trashing Americans with whom they disagree. [In fact, that is precisely Obama's modus operendi.]

The inclusion of Arizona in a politically correct catalog of human rights and wrongs is more than "downright offensive," as Brewer put it. It's a national travesty. [It is turning on a member of your family: tasteless and distasteful and embarrassing for those who have to witness it.]

Obama Gives Back Major Strip of AZ to Mexico

The federal government is now telling American citizens to stay out of three southern Arizona counties. It is too dangerous because of armed smugglers from Mexico.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu: Quite frankly I’m telling you as a sheriff that we don’t control that part of the county. My county is larger than the state of Connecticut and we need support from the federal government. It’s their job to secure the border and they haven’t done it. In fact President Obama suspended the construction of the fence.

FOX News reporter: Would you like to see some of the president’s outrage about the oil spill and some of the butt-kicking that he’s talked about doing applied there on the border as well?

Sheriff Paul Babeu: Even with that, you say one thing and then you’re out at a fundraiser in California and you don’t go to the funeral of the people who died in the explosion. You know its one thing to say something slick on television in a ten second soundbite but we need action. And, it’s shameful that we as the most powerful nation on earth can win wars and liberate countries throughout history yet we can’t even secure our own border.

To Destroy America

Buy It

We know Dick Lamm as the former (Democrat) Governor of Colorado, In that context his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was at an immigration overpopulation conference in Washington, DC, filled to capacity by many of America’s finest minds and leaders.

A brilliant college professor by the name of Victor Davis Hanson talked about his latest book, ‘Mexifornia,’ explaining how immigration – both legal and illegal was destroying the entire state of California. He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream.

Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America.

The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the United States. He said, ‘If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let’s destroy America. It is not that hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that ‘An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.”’Here is how they do it,’ Lamm said:

To DESTROY AMERICA

tri  FIRST:   turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country.
History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. The historical scholar, Seymour Lipset, put it this way: ‘The histories of bilingual and bicultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy.’ Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, and Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques, Bretons, Corsicans and Muslims.’

tri  SECOND:   invent ‘multiculturalism’ and encourage immigrants to maintain their culture.
Make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal; that there are no cultural differences. Make it an article of faith that the Black and Hispanic dropout rates are due solely to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out of bounds.

tri  THIRD:   celebrate diversity rather than unity
…and we could make the United States an ‘Hispanic Quebec ‘ without much effort.  As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently: ‘The apparent success of our own multi-ethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentriy and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.’ Lamm said, ‘I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with the salad bowl metaphor. It is important to en sure that we have various cultural subgroups living in America enforcing their differences rather than as Americans, emphasizing their similarities.’

tri  FOURTH:   make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated.
I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50% dropout rate from high school.’

tri  FIFTH:   start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority.’
I would get all minorities to think that their lack of success was the fault of the majority.  Get big foundations and business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of ‘Victimology.’

tri  SIXTH:    stress differences rather than similarities
include dual citizenship, and promote divided loyalties. I would celebrate diversity over unity.  Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other – that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse, peaceful, or stable society is against most historical precedent. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together. Look at the ancient Greeks. The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshipped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic games. A common enemy, Persia , threatened their liberty. Yet all these bonds were not strong enough to overcome two factors: local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions. Greece fell. ‘E Pluribus, Unum’ — From many, one. In that historical reality, if we put the emphasis on the ‘pluribus’ instead of the ‘Unum,’ we will ‘Balkanize’ America as surely as Kosovo.’

tri  SEVENTH:   place all subjects off limits. Make it taboo to talk about anything against the cult of ‘diversity.’ I would find a word similar to ‘heretic’ in the 16th century – that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like ‘racist’ or ‘xenophobe’ halt discussion and debate. Having made America a bilingual/bicultural country, having established multiculturalism, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of ‘Victimology,’

tri  EIGHTH:   make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra: That because immigration has been good for America, it must always be good. I would make every individual immigrant symmetric and ignore the cumulative impact of millions of them.’

In the last minute of his speech, Governor Lamm wiped his brow. Profound silence followed.

Finally he said,  tri  ‘Lastly, I would censor Victor Davis Hanson’s book ‘Mexifornia.’ His book is dangerous. It exposes the plan to destroy America. If you feel America deserves to be destroyed, don’t read that book.’

There was no applause. A chilling fear quietly rose like an ominous cloud above every attendee at the conference. Every American in that room knew that everything Lamm enumerated was proceeding methodically, quietly, darkly, yet pervasively across the United States today.

tri Discussion is being suppressed.

tri Over 100 languages are ripping the foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness.

tri Even barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing as we celebrate ‘diversity.’

tri American jobs are vanishing into the Third World as corporations create a Third World in America. Take note of California and other states. To date, ten million illegal aliens and growing fast. It is reminiscent of George Orwell’s book ’1984.’ In that story,

tri three slogans are engraved in the Ministry of Truth building: ‘War is peace,’ ‘Freedom is slavery,’ and ‘Ignorance is strength.’

Governor Lamm walked back to his seat. It dawned on everyone at the conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy is deeply in trouble and worsening fast. If we don’t get this immigration monster stopped within three years, it will rage like a California wildfire and destroy everything in its path, especially The American Dream.

Stand With Arizona

cartoon

Arizona is besieged by illegal immigration–more people and drugs cross illegally into the United States through Arizona than any other state. And Arizonans suffer the massive levels of crime that go with it. Drug and human smuggling, extortion, kidnapping and murders. And the Federal government has done NOTHING to stop it.

Arizonans have had enough. They decided to stop waiting for the Feds to do what the Constitution mandates–to protect its citizens from external threats. So they passed legislation to help stop the robberies, shootings, rapes, kidnapping, murders, and madness.

This isn't about racism, or xenophobia, or "apartheid" or any of the other hysterical slanders the left has come up. This is about the safety and well-being of the citizens of the state. And its support was overwhelming: 70% of Arizonans supported it. And
support is Bi-Partisan, with 84% of Republicans and 51% of Democrats in favor.

But some have now come out and called for a boycott of Arizona. Incredibly, even on of its own U.S. Representatives–Rep. Raul Grijalva has joined this call for a boycott–of his own state!

Border Fence Issues

border fence with Mexico

The murder of Arizona rancher Robert Krentz by an illegal immigrant he went out to help, clearly shows us a problem is getting bigger at the border.

What we see in the picture is laughable — or would be if American citizens were not being dragged into Mexico's drug cartel problems.

Of the 646 miles of barriers currently constructed along the 2,000-mile southern border of the United States, 300 miles are vehicle barriers. They keep out cars, but not people. Stupid.

Rancher Wendy Glenn, Krentz's longtime friend and neighbor who heard the man's last radio transmission to his brother, said she has roughly 4 miles of border fence along Malpai Ranch. The "wildlife-friendly" barrier — one that allows large animals and determined people to pass through freely — ranges from large Normandy-style "X" crosses to standard posts and rails, topping off at no more than six feet high, she said.

"It doesn't keep any people out. We don't want any more fence here. We want more people on the border. No matter what they put in, they're going to tunnel under, cut through, or use ladders. We don't need that."

"We need more people on the border," she said. "And we need more horse patrols — they are awesome."

During a tour of the border along Fort Hancock, Texas, last week, Border Patrol Agent Joe Romero said security in the area was improving despite rising fears in the community that drug cartel-related violence in El Porvenir, Mexico, could spill over into the U.S. town at any moment. Still, threats remain, he said.

"At no point am I going to indicate that we have full control of the border, or that we're 100 percent secure on the border," Romero says. "It's still a struggle, there's still some work to be done. But we've made huge strides."

How about a No-Mans-Land with land mines? That'll work.
[That is called satire folks; dont get all crazy and riled.]

Robert Krentz

Arizona rancher Robert Krentz was known as a good Samaritan who lended a hand to illegal immigrants crossing from Mexico — but authorities say he was gunned down by one of the very people he often helped.

Great border security Obama!

Police say Krentz, whose family has been ranching in southern Arizona since 1907, was gunned down early Saturday morning by an illegal immigrant while out on his ATV tending to fences and water lines on the family's 34,000-acre cattle ranch.

Reached by phone early Tuesday at his family's ranch, Andy Krentz, Krentz's oldest son, said his father was a churchgoing

In 1999, Krentz and his wife told PBS' Religion & Ethics Newsweekly that the Krentz ranch had been broken into and burglarized of $700 worth of items. Despite the crime, Krentz said he helped any illegal immigrant he could.

"And you know, if they come in and ask for water, I'll still give them water," he said. "I — you know, that's just my nature."

Locally, the 58-year-old Krentz was known as a good Samaritan who often brought water and helped injured illegal immigrants who tried to cross the desert in an area where summer temperatures often hit 120 degrees.

Krentz radioed his brother Phil between 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning that he had encountered an illegal immigrant, and was supposed to meet Phil on the ranch at noon, according to sheriff's deputies. When Krentz didn't show up, the brother called police, and a search team was soon scouring the sprawling desert 15 miles north of the border, near Douglas, Ariz.

At around 11 p.m., a state police helicopter found Krentz slumped over his ATV, the engine and lights still on. Nearby, his dog lay critically wounded, also hit by a bullet.  The bastard even shot his dog!  The dog was put down Sunday morning and will be cremated, its ashes spread on the property along with Krentz's.

Tracker dogs have now followed the tracks of the killer back into Mexico, some 15 miles south.

Sen. McCain write a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

"The federal government must do all it can within its power to curb this violence and protect its citizens from criminals coming across the border from Mexico," he said in the letter.

McCain wants to see an increased National Guard presence on the border.
