Iran's Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei does not bother to veil his threats (but then, neither does Ahmadine-nut-job).
The Aya said on Monday that Iran will deliver a "punch" that will stun world powers during this week's 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution, this being Feb 11th.
"The Iranian nation, with its unity and God's grace, will punch the arrogance (Western powers) on the 22nd of Bahman, February 11, in a way that will leave them stunned," Khamenei, who is also Iran's commander-in-chief, told a gathering of air force personnel according to AFP.
This proved to be empty rhetoric, at least, as of 3:53pm MT Feb 11th.
Apparently not. What a disgrace indeed, to give a platform to those like Ahmadinejad.
NETANYAHU: But to those who gave this Holocaust denier a hearing, I say on behalf of my people, the Jewish people, and decent people everywhere, have you no shame? Have you no decency? A mere six decades after the Holocaust, you give legitimacy to a man who denies the murder of six million Jews while promising to wipe out the state of Israel, the state of the Jews? What a disgrace.
Ahmadinejad’s Web site said Soltan was slain by "unknown agents and in a suspicious" way, convincing him that "enemies of the nation" were responsible.
The regime has implicated protesters and even foreign intelligence agents in Soltan’s death. But an Iranian doctor who said he tried to save her told the BBC last week she was shot by a member of the volunteer Basij militia. Protesters spotted an armed member of the militia on a motorcycle, and stopped and disarmed him, Dr. Arash Hejazi said. And that person then said he didn’t mean to kill her. I call that Case Closed!
Authorities have cracked down hard on dissent, most recently on Sunday, when riot police clashed with up to 3,000 protesters near the Ghoba Mosque in north Tehran. It was Iran’s first major post-election unrest in four days.
They evicted Neda’s family from their home and are harrassing them. Why?
Witnesses told The Associated Press that police used tear gas and clubs to break up the crowd, and said some demonstrators suffered broken bones. They alleged that security forces beat an elderly woman, prompting a screaming match with young demonstrators who then fought back.
There he is – the Grinning Fool. He had unfavorable words for Obama. Seems he did not like being criticized for butchering students in the streets. Awww.
John McCain just said on Capitol Hill: Iranian [protesters] saw us as a "beacon of hope." But the liberal left tells us to be nice to the Iranian regime. That contradicts the fundamental principles of the USA.
Exactly.
Why else would they carry signs in English? They wanted us to see what was happening to them. They were crying out for help and support.
None of that, however, is to be found from Obama. For 11 days he kissed the regime’s fanny with carefully chosen words (he is so good at that), while people were thrown off bridges and hacked to pieces with axes. Or shot while doing nothing at all. Remember Neda.
Now come reports that 70 university professors were arrested in Iran for daring to meet with Mousavi, who says he was robbed of victory in a rigged presidential election. There is some heavy retribution coming down.
So Obama’s idea of inviting Iranian oppressors to an Independence Day celebration at US embassies does not seem so appropriate any more – not with the public anyway. Hot Dog Diplomacy that was called (I call it Stupid). Isn’t that ironic? The current regime butchers its own people who protest for freedom – for their own independence – and Obama brown noses and offers hot dogs to celebrate something they don’t even believe in and are determined to squash in Iran. Not just ironic – it’s Moronic.
After this big announcement of inviting Iranian officials to US embassies to join in the Independence Day celeb, now it has been quietly removed – not that anyone accepted the ridiculous invitation to begin with! That’s Obama’s MO – big press for announcements of grandeur – the ones that make him look kingly, and then middle-of-the night actions for things that would seem unpopular.
What a hypocrite. None of this would be tolerated from anyone else.
How exactly does he come up with these stupid ideas? He has no Common Sense.
