Paid NOT to Provide Care

Sneaked into another bill last night… it has to be bad if they have to hide it and bypass congress, no?

Doctors will now be reimbursed with incentives to tell patients not to use medical care available and — DIE QUICKLY!

Yeah, that speech that Alan Grayson gave, except that it is the Democrats that want you to die quickly. Repubs care for Life and are against legislation that would deny care.

Obamacare… is crappy care.

Net Neutrality

Seemingly harmless term for Big Brother to watch all you do on the Net.

Republican Commissioner Robert McDowell, who has long opposed Net neutrality regulation, said in an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal on Monday that the new rules are trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist.

"On this winter solstice, we will witness jaw-dropping interventionist chutzpah as the FCC bypasses branches of our government in the dogged pursuit of needless and harmful regulation," McDowell wrote. "The darkest day of the year may end up marking the beginning of a long winter's night for Internet freedom."

He went on to say:

"Nothing is broken and needs fixing, however. The Internet has been open and freedom-enhancing since it was spun off from a government research project in the early 1990s. Its nature as a diffuse and dynamic global network of networks defies top-down authority. Ample laws to protect consumers already exist."

Assange

December 7, 2010 at 4:18 pmCategory:Commentary | Hoaxes and Lies

Julian Paul Assange is an Australian journalist, publisher and Internet activist best known as the WikiLeaks guy who has gotten hold of "secret" documents and is making them public, bit by bit.

At first I thought of him as a traitor, even though he is Australian, but you know what I mean.

The latest batch of diplomatic communiques was interesting though.

Then Eric Holder spoke out against him. He's OK with the Black Panthers threatening folks, but….

His accuser in the sex offense is very suspect and flatly do not believe her, rather, that she is setting him up. She held a party in his honor the night after the alleged incident. Yada Yada. It was consentual and the case was closed in August.

So I have come around 180 degrees waiting for what he has to say next. I believe his revelations could enlighten us all on the Powers that move us around like pawns in their game.

Alert! Do You Know What You Are Eating?

food supplyWhile mainstream media looked the other way, the Senate moved forward to bring   S 510 forward for a floor vote, just before Thanksgiving Break. The timing of this tactic was no accident. The Democrats are now hoping to pass this "most dangerous legislation in history" without general public notice or resistance.

After a historic election in which Americans voted for SMALLER GOVERNMENT, LESS BUREACRACY AND CUTTING COSTS – what have we gotten, so far, instead: TSA airport assaults on our personal privacy – and now planned FDA take-over of what we eat!

Having succeeded in rushing the "Food Safety Modernization Act" out of committee – with bi-partisan support- a floor vote – is now planned – to pass this toxic FDA control package (including impossible standards and prohibitions on small producers.)  With the Senate back in session today – we are informed this action tops their immediate agenda. The only thing that can stop this step of the Progressive agenda is immediate, vehement public protest.

So, S 510 now stands out as their most infamous measure with "bi-partisan" support. Naive and/or self-interested GOP – along with "moderate" Democrats gave this a YEA 57-23. IT PASSED!

Since then attention has turned to window-dressing amendments to make this bill more palatable for some over others. (For example, Vitter (LA) amendment to protect his state's seafood industry.) We aren't fooled – and all of US need to let key Senators know they musn't be either.

Amendments or not, THIS IS A BAD BILL! However disguised its intention is to rid the U.S. of small natural producers in favor of expanding big pharma & chemical corporation invasion of our food supply. The politicking surrounding this bill has gotten so insane, GOP supporters are now bragging they've gotten agreement to remove JAIL TERMS for FARMERS – as if that makes the rest of the FDA increased budget and powers OK!

The GOVERNMENT passes now for GOD.

Oh To Be King

Many Americans thought Henry Waxman’s Cap and Trade nightmare was dead. While Team Obama may no longer be able to push through another 2000+ page piece of job-destroying legislation, the Administration can use Executive Orders to implement many of the specifics of the legislation via changes in the regulatory policies.

The King Speaks

Recently, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued partial guidance to increase ethanol content in gasoline to 15%, even though ethanol’s supposed benefits have been solidly debunked. Studies by the EPA have shown that ethanol increases carbon emissions, drives up costs of corn and food products, hinders engine efficiency, and does little to make our nation more energy independent.

In short, the EPA’s ethanol policy is a ploy, designed to prop up a failed industry, with yet another multi-billion dollar bailout from taxpayers.

EPA quietly announced this decision that will result in huge increases in subsidies to the ethanol industry while forcing Americans to buy a product that they don’t want. Nor was there any acknowledgement within the Obama Administration that the unintended consequence of a15% mandate on ethanol will almost certainly drive up food costs on everything from beef to cereal, to tortillas.

Higher food prices represent a new tax on all Americans as we are forced to pay more for corn-based food products, so that Obama can continue to subsidize the ethanol industry.

Retaliation

EPA recently issued a strategic plan for the next five years, Fiscal Year 2011-2015 EPA Strategic Plan – that will cost over a trillion dollars to implement. The plan advances retaliatory mandates that allow President Obama to punish organizations that oppose his flawed policies and donate heavily to Republicans.

For example, on page 44, the EPA unveils its new plan to criminalize violations of the agency’s mandates and has targeted 4 industries–cement plants, coal-fired utilities, glass plants and animal feeding operations, all industries that have, traditionally, donated heavily to Republicans.

It is hard not to consider that the Obama Administration’s actions may be politically motivated, since Americans have seen the Democrat party using this same kind of demagoguery with Koch Industries and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce both which have chosen to support GOP candidates and Republican job-creation policies.

Nor is the EPA the only Federal Agency working hard to crank up a slew of new regulations which will soon sprout like crabgrass in the spring. Take for example the new rulings that will give the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) broad new powers to require all financial institutions, hedge funds, investment firms, banks to set up hiring quotas for minorities. Gadsen Plate

Dont Tread On Me

Look at this license plate! If you live in Virginia, you might have that option in January.

The Gadsen flag with it’s popular “Don’t Tread on Me” mantra could be coming to a vehicle license plate near you — if you live in Virginia.

“The citizens of Virginia will soon be able to express their support for smaller government and protest the Federal Government’s intrusion into the affairs of private citizens,” the Richmond, VA 9/12 project website says. “How? With license plates that make a statement!”

The group has introduced state legislation that would make Gadsen-themed license plates an official option for residents.

The group collected the 475 signatures necessary to get the plates and the appropriate legislation considered, which the legislature will do in January.

But the group‘s work isn’t over. If the bill makes it past the legislature and is signed into law, the Department of Motor Vehicles needs 350 applications to establish the specialized identifiers. The plates will cost only $10, and the group is encouraging VA residents to fill out an application form.

Similar 'proposals' are in place in Texas.
