Say It Ain’t So!

town hall staged Debby

Well, Helen Thomas told us (as if we could not have figured that out ourselves) that all questions are staged, pre-screened and previously approved by Obama and staff.

Enter the town hall meeting and a woman named Debby. She described her problem amid tears and then Obama (who has been criticized for being stiff, aloof, and cold), learned his acting well and did his ‘aw poor thing’ routine.

He then used her situation to make his point – kinda like a skit for those who are more visual. “Debby is a perfect example of somebody who we should, in a country this wealthy, be able to provide coverage for her health care problems,” he said.

Now wait a minute. I follow a basic rule when I hear something – consider the source. The town hall meeting itself was highly orchestrated — with a small number in attendance and online questions being screened by the White House. Even none other than Helen Thomas complained to Press Secretary Robert Gibbs about the event being staged.

So it’s like a play or TV show. That’s pretend. That’s fantasy.

And it’s not like these folks don’t know each other!

Truman Show

The AP is reporting that this Debby Smith "is a volunteer for Organizing for America, Obama’s political operation within the Democratic National Committee" who "obtained her ticket through the White House."

So the questions from an advocate of a socialized, or single-payer health care, a representative of the liberal activist group Health Care for Americans Now, a member of the Service Employees International Union who asked what she could do to help, and one of his own volunteers – they were all scripted.

These are not real press conferences or real Q and A sessions. It’s all staged! You are being fed a TV show. The new Truman Show except we are the duped ones.
